EDF Energy plans to team up with UK's largest solar power provider to offer free solar panels. Sunplug is led by a former Goldman Sachs Banker James Brooks and aims to offer a solar power and battery system at no upfront cost.
The Sunplug allows the customers to collect solar energy in the day and they can use the power by paying a certain cost. In this system, customers don't need to pay for the solar panel and installation charges are also avoided. The package provided by Sunplug contains solar panels and a 3.3-kilowatt battery. The users can connect with an online system to know their energy consumption.
